Rive di San Pietro di Barbozza
Extra Brut DOCG
TERROIR
Our "Rive di San Pietro di Barbozza" Extra Brut represents the purest essence of our connection to the land. We are located in the heart of the DOCG zone, in one of the most suitable areas of the entire district: the hamlet of San Pietro di Barbozza, in Valdobbiadene. The vineyards climb steep slopes reaching altitudes between 300 and 450 meters above sea level, where the vines brave the gradient in what is rightly called "heroic" viticulture.
The distinctiveness of this terroir lies in the soil: a thin active layer resting directly on the limestone bedrock, the famous "Biancone." This structure ensures optimal water drainage, essential in an area characterized by generous rainfall. The privileged exposure allows the grapes to fully capture the sun's rays, while the marked temperature variations between day and night, accentuated by the proximity to the mountain slopes, lock in the aromas and preserve a vibrant freshness. It is in these "extreme" conditions that Glera expresses its maximum verticality and finesse.
TASTING NOTES
All the characteristics of the soil and climate are found intact in the glass, offering one of the most authentic and savory expressions of the Glera grape. The choice of the Extra Brut version enhances the mineral structure provided by the surfacing Biancone, resulting in an inviting savory flavor and a persistence reminiscent of the marly limestone of the soil.
The sensory profile is a perfect balance between elegance and tension: the typical springtime and floral aromas (white acacia flowers and wisteria) stand out, enhanced by the cool ripening temperatures. On the palate, the acidity is sharp yet silky, resulting in a dry, clean, and characterful sip.
Versatile and refined, it's the ideal companion for high-end aperitifs. It pairs excellently with raw seafood, shellfish, light fried foods, and mountain cheeses, as well as enhancing traditional Venetian cuisine.
It is recommended to serve at 6-8°C.
